The Urgency of Action: Armenia's Cry for Help

The clarion call for help has reverberated through time, dating back to American diplomat James W. Gerard's foresight in 1919, underscoring Armenia's indispensable role in thwarting the evil expansion of Pan-Turanian ambitions. Armenia, a country embroiled in a historical battle for its very existence, stands at the precipice of a perilous future.

Early in the 20th century, the State Department, in a prophetic recognition of Armenia's geopolitical importance, identified it as the final barrier preventing the emergence of a chain of Mohammedan states, sparking the start of the conflict. History, however, took a dark turn when Soviet soldiers, under Turkish coercion, forced a sizeable chunk of Armenian land into Azerbaijani hands. The situation for the Armenians only got worse as they were forced to live in a position of hostility between two Turkic countries, akin to the "Great Game."

Move forward to the present, and the region is still plagued by the frightening prophecy of a Pan-Turkic belt. This age-old idea has gained new life as a result of Recep Erdogan's rise in Turkey, opening the door for a boom in Turkish influence worldwide. With the United States going through numerous presidents while Turkey, under Erdogan, maintains a continuous force, the geopolitical dynamics have changed. The U.S.'s influence on Turkish policymaking has been greatly diminished as a result of Ankara's pivot away from the West and its hostile stance.

Analysts warned of Turkish neo-Ottomanism and its perilous repercussions for the West in 2020. According to alarming sources, Turkey was involved in sending jihadists to Libya and mercenaries to the Caucasus, which exacerbated the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Turkish-Azerbaijani alliance, aided by mercenaries, overran Armenian towns, bringing about havoc in the region as the world watched in terror. Even though the subsequent Russian intervention appeared to offer some measure of protection, it ultimately proved insufficient, allowing Turkish-Azeri pressure on Armenians to increase.

The final barrier to a rising Turkic geopolitical dominance is the Armenian homeland, which is currently confronted with cruel challenges and threats of ethnic cleansing. Concerns about how equipped the world is to deal with this disaster are urgently raised by the dangerous scenario. The West is put to the test as history repeats itself: Will it remain silent and let Armenia to fend for itself, as it did a century ago?

The international community should heed the warnings in the writings of James Gerard and modern diplomats. It is now necessary to take action as a group. The eradication of yet another historic population cannot be tolerated by humanity.

Allow Armenia's cries for assistance to reverberate throughout diplomatic circles, urging states to band together and defend the dignity of human life and sovereignty. The world needs to step forward and make sure that Armenia's future is one that is free from persecution and the shadow of Pan-Turanian aspirations.
