In a visionary move to redefine luxury mountain tourism, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has unveiled the groundbreaking "Soudah Peaks" project. This ambitious endeavor will transform the picturesque mountainous region of Soudah, situated in the Asir region of southwest Saudi Arabia, into a world-class destination, set at a lofty 3,015 meters above sea level on Saudi Arabia's highest peak. Encompassing the regions of Souda and parts of Rijal Almaa, the project is poised to be a game-changer in the realm of high-end tourism and represents a pivotal step towards diversifying the Saudi economy.
The "Soudah Peaks" project, a key initiative of the Public Investment Fund, is strategically aligned with the goals of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia's comprehensive plan for economic transformation. It aims to bolster vital industries such as tourism, hospitality, and entertainment while supporting the Asir development strategy. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as the Chairman of Soudah Development's Board of Directors, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its role in ushering in a new era of luxury mountain tourism.
"Soudah Peaks" is envisioned not only as a haven of opulence but as a sustainable endeavor that prioritizes the preservation of the natural environment, cultural heritage, and traditions of the region. The project is expected to contribute significantly to Saudi Arabia's economy, with an estimated SAR29 billion to the Kingdom's cumulative GDP and the creation of thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities.
Speaking about the project's significance, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman remarked, "Soudah Peaks will be a significant addition to the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia and place the Kingdom on the global tourism map, whilst highlighting and celebrating the country’s rich culture and heritage. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of Soudah Peaks, explore its rich culture and heritage, and experience the authentic hospitality of the local community. Soudah Peaks will offer unforgettable experiences amidst lush greenery, above the clouds."
With a goal of accommodating over 2 million visitors annually by 2033, "Soudah Peaks" will comprise six distinctive development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. These zones will boast a wide array of world-class amenities, including luxury hotels, mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment and commercial attractions, and outdoor activities dedicated to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.
Soudah Development, the driving force behind the project, has committed to delivering 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space for "Soudah Peaks" by the target year of 2033. This grand endeavor promises not only to elevate Saudi Arabia's standing in the global tourism landscape but also to showcase the rich tapestry of culture and heritage that makes the region of Soudah truly exceptional.
