Saudi Arabia and Armenia to Develop ‘Road Map’ for Diplomatic Relations, Confirms FM Ararat Mirzoyan to Arab News

 

During his important visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced the beginning of a new era of cooperation. During an exclusive interview with Arab News, Mirzoyan emphasized the boundless prospects for cooperation between the two countries, characterizing his task as creating the foundation for a strong diplomatic bond.

In his remarks, Mirzoyan praised the historical and cultural links that exist between Armenia and the Arab world, highlighting the Arab world's unwavering support for Armenian refugees, particularly those who survived the Armenian genocide. He pointed out that the historic signing of official diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Armenia was only the first step toward larger cooperation.

Mirzoyan met with representatives from important ministries and Saudi counterparts, such as Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during his visit. He presented a thorough plan for collaboration that included trade, investment, education, technology, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure development.

The start of Flynas' commercial flights between Riyadh and Yerevan was welcomed by the Armenian Foreign Minister, who predicted an increase in traveler interactions. In addition, he congratulated Saudi Arabia for winning the proposal to host Expo 2030 and reaffirmed Armenia's backing for the project.

He expressed worries over Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh and reaffirmed Armenia's resolve to deal with these problems. Armenia's pursuit of stronger links with the US and the EU further demonstrates its dedication to democratic reforms and robust economic growth.

Finally, Mirzoyan stated that Saudi Arabia and Armenia would greatly benefit from further cooperation, emphasizing the endless possibilities for reciprocal gains in a number of areas.
