Turkey Condemns Israel's Expulsions, Starvation Tactics in Gaza

Fidan: “Unacceptable and Inhumane”

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has issued a scathing condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank, calling the expulsion of Palestinians and annexation of occupied territory “unacceptable.”

Speaking at a press briefing in Ankara, Fidan said Israel’s current campaign is not only about displacement — but amounts to “genocide by starvation.” He accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of intentionally undermining ceasefire talks by escalating suffering.

“Starving civilians is not a path to peace — it is a war crime. This policy shows Netanyahu has no real interest in a ceasefire.”

📍 Gaza Under Siege

Fidan’s remarks come amid mounting reports of mass hunger in Gaza, where Israeli restrictions continue to block food, medicine, and fuel from reaching the population. Humanitarian organizations warn that famine conditions are spreading across southern and central Gaza, affecting hundreds of thousands.

Turkey has long criticized Israel’s military actions in Gaza but has intensified its tone in recent weeks as evidence mounts of deliberate starvation tactics.

🏞️ West Bank Annexation and Forced Displacement

The Foreign Minister also condemned Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, where illegal settlement expansion and military raids have displaced thousands. He warned that plans to formally annex large parts of the West Bank not only violate international law but “bury the two-state solution.”

“Annexation is not security. It is theft — and it will not be tolerated by the international community.”

🇹🇷 Turkey’s Position: Time for Consequences

Fidan urged world powers to take real steps — not just statements — warning that continued inaction enables Israel’s policies. He reiterated Turkey’s calls for an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, international sanctions on Israeli officials, and support for the International Court of Justice and ICC investigations.

🌍 Growing Diplomatic Pressure

Turkey joins a rising chorus of nations — including South Africa, Ireland, and Malaysia — calling for stronger international response to what many now describe as crimes against humanity. With Gaza’s death toll surpassing 38,000 and West Bank violence escalating, the pressure on Israel continues to mount.

Fidan concluded with a message to Western leaders: “Words of concern are not enough. This is the time to act.
