The Weekend donates $2 million for humanitarian aid in Gaza

The Weeknd, a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye, is a Canadian singer who has pledged $2 million more to help families in Gaza, demonstrating his dedication to ending hunger. The XO Humanitarian Fund, which he established, will use this donation to support the World Food Programme (WFP), a global organization that helps impoverished communities throughout the world by providing food assistance.

The WFP will be able to supply more than 1,500 tons of enriched wheat flour—enough to make more than 18 million loaves of bread—thanks to The Weeknd's $2 million donation. Over 157,000 Palestinians will have food for a full month thanks to this big supply. The World Food Program (WFP) conveyed its appreciation for this kind donation, highlighting the substantial influence it will have on alleviating hunger in Gaza.

The Weeknd's most recent commitment comes after he donated $2.5 million to the World Food Program USA in December 2021 via the XO Humanitarian Fund. The last gift funded 820 tonnes of food supplies and four million emergency meals, which would have fed approximately 173,000 Palestinians for two weeks.
