Gaza: Al Shifa Hospital Under Siege, Without Fuel or Power

The Al Shifa hospital has been encircled by Israeli military since late last week. The mortuary at the hospital is overcrowded and without power to keep the dead cool, corpses are strewn about the courtyard and the institution has ran out of white body bags.

According to the World Health Organisation, Israeli tanks are mere metres away from the hospital's entrance, and health personnel have been unable to retrieve bodies due to Israel's airstrikes. According to reports, Israel has used air power in occupied towns and cities, including Jenin.

According to the WHO, numerous newborn babies have perished and dozens more are in danger at Al Shifa hospital. Since October 7, more than 1.6 million Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza, and more than 11,000 have been murdered in Israeli bombardment. Hamas is still holding 239 people captive.
