Iran is Not the ‘Bad Guy’ Here, its Israel’s Narrative

Since Hamas shocked Israel on that fatal day, the US government has tried to pin the blame on Iran. However, Iran does not want the Israel-Hamas conflict to escalate into a wider conflict with regional implications.

Iran, like other Middle Eastern countries, has pleaded with the UN to seek a truce, citing the Western governments' support for Israel and rhetoric against Hamas as self-defense. Thousands of civilians are still killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza. Israel-fueled propaganda about Israeli women being raped and Israeli children being slain had already prepared the stage.
The Iranian minister said that Tehran wishes to assist in the freeing of citizens taken hostage by Hamas in Gaza. Iran, according to Abdollahian, does not want the Israel-Hamas conflict to spill over into the neighbourhood.

However, he stressed that Iran will reply if the Israeli military operation continues, particularly if Israel follows through on its pledge of a ground assault in Gaza.
