Nearly 3,000 people evacuated from Sudan in Saudi operations

 



Since the evacuation procedure in the Kingdom began on April 24, over 3,000 people—including 119 Saudis and 2,872 persons from 80 other nationalities—have been evacuated safely from Sudan to Saudi Arabia.

According to the Saudi foreign ministry, the ship "Makkah" of the Saudi navy landed in Jeddah on Friday with 195 passengers from 16 different countries, including the US, UK, Australia, Iraq, and Egypt.

The number of refugees increased to 2,991 after the navy ship "Al-Jubail" docked in Jeddah earlier in the day with 52 persons from 11 different nationalities who had been evacuated from Sudan.

HMS Riyadh transported 200 evacuees to Jeddah on Thursday night. The countries represented among the evacuees were Egypt, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Palestine, Somalia, the US, Bahrain, Canada, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

With 1,687 persons of 58 different nationalities being transported from Port Sudan, the greatest evacuation took place on April 26.

Saudi Arabia has been continuously evacuating people by air as well as by sea, assisting citizens, diplomats, and government representatives from all over the world.
