The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran will meet during Ramadan

 


During the holy month of Ramadan in 2023, the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will meet.

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Iran spoke over the phone on Monday, according to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. (SPA). The two ministers then decided to meet during the holy month of Ramadan.

The two ministers spoke over the phone on a variety of regional and global topics, including the trilateral agreement they signed with the People's Republic of China.

Musaad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, the national security adviser for Saudi Arabia, and Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, met for five days earlier this month to negotiate the accord.

Following the agreement's signature, Saudi Arabia and Iran also decided to resurrect the Security Cooperation Agreement they had originally signed in 2001.

Saudi Arabia and Iran concur to preserve state sovereignty and refrain from meddling in domestic affairs, according to a statement from the Saudi Press Agency.
