Saudi Interior Ministry: Umrah pilgrims must use mobile app to make bookings

The Saudi interior ministry said on Tuesday that pilgrims who wish to take part in the Muslim Umrah ritual must henceforth utilize the Nusuk or Tawakkalna software.

"The Umrah security plan for (this) year included managing and organizing crowds and traffic, providing humanitarian services, supporting and empowering the entities participating in implementing the plan, and distributing manpower," said Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Bassami.

He stressed the "plenty" of reservations that were available and asked pilgrims to adhere to their scheduled departure dates, all of which had been organized in coordination with the Ministry of Hajj and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.

According to the state-run SPA news agency, the ministry's plans and preparations for this year's Umrah season were covered during a press conference for the leaders of the Umrah security forces at the 911 Unified Operations Center in Makkah.
Al-Bassami continued, "The pathways were changed to ensure crowd movement safety. The predicted densities in public transportation stations around the Third Ring Road, the Holy Mosque of Makkah, and the entrances to Makkah were taken into consideration.
