Saudi Arabia's King Salman gave his blessing
for the holy Qur'an to be distributed overseas in a million copies for the
month of Ramadan on Sunday.
The copies will comprise many versions of the
holy book in more than 76 languages, as well as copies of the Qur'an in various
sizes.
The copies, which were printed in Madinah at
the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, will be distributed to Islamic
centres throughout 22 nations.
According to Sheikh Dr Abdullatif bin
Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance,
shipping preparations have begun in order to ensure that the copies of the holy
book will reach in time for Ramadan.
