Why Reset Your AirPods?
If your AirPods are acting up connection drops, one earbud not working, or poor sound quality—a reset is often the fastest fix. Resetting restores factory settings, clears old connections, and gets your AirPods ready to pair with a new device.
Reset AirPods (1st, 2nd, 3rd Gen & AirPods Pro – 1st Gen)
Place both AirPods in the case and close the lid for 30 seconds.
On your iPhone/iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
Tap the (i) next to your AirPods and select Forget This Device.
Open the case lid.
Hold the setup button on the back of the case for ~15 seconds.
Release when the status light flashes amber, then white.
✅ Your AirPods are now reset.
Reset AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) & AirPods (4th Gen – USB‑C Case)
Put AirPods in the case and forget them in Bluetooth settings.
Open the case lid.
Tap the front of the case near the status light until it flashes amber → white.
Place the case near your device and reconnect.
Reset AirPods Max
Forget AirPods Max in Bluetooth settings.
Hold the Digital Crown + Noise Control button together for ~10 seconds.
Release when the LED flashes amber → white.
✅ Reset complete.
Reconnect After Reset
Keep the case lid open and place it near your iPhone or iPad. Follow the on‑screen prompt to reconnect.
