Iranian Diplomat's Visit to Beirut Highlights Support for Palestinian Resistance

In a significant diplomatic move, the top Iranian diplomat concluded a two-day visit to Syria before arriving in Beirut on Thursday. During his stay in Beirut, he engaged in a lengthy meeting with leaders from prominent Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad. The central theme of their discussions was the imperative of liberating Palestine from Israeli occupation.

Underscoring the unwavering commitment of the Islamic Republic to the Palestinian cause, the Iranian foreign minister assured the resistance leaders of continued support for the Palestinian nation and their struggle for liberation. The meeting provided a platform for emphasizing the steadfastness of Iran's strategy, which seeks to bolster the Palestinian resistance and contribute to the eventual liberation of Palestine from occupation.

Amidst the discussions, Amirabdollahian, the Iranian diplomat, highlighted the perspective of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the urgency of providing support to the occupied West Bank, an area marked by escalating atrocities committed by the Israeli regime. The recent rise of a hard-right cabinet led by Benjamin Netanyahu has further intensified the situation in the region.

The Palestinian officials participating in the dialogue echoed their strong belief in resistance as the paramount strategic choice for their nation. They asserted that resistance operations in the West Bank would remain a top priority, expressing resolute determination in their stance. The officials reaffirmed their commitment to the struggle against occupation, portraying it as an unyielding pursuit.

Notably, this visit follows a precedent set in June, when Iran played host to a delegation of officials from Gaza Strip-based resistance movements. This delegation included Ziad al-Nakhala, Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad, and Ismail Haniyeh, Chief of Hamas' Politburo. During their stay in Iran, the Palestinian officials engaged in meaningful discussions with Ayatollah Khamenei and various Iranian dignitaries, further solidifying the bonds of solidarity.

As diplomatic efforts and dialogues continue, the Iranian diplomat's visit underscores Iran's unwavering support for the Palestinian resistance movement and its commitment to pursuing the liberation of Palestine from the grip of occupation. The meetings in Beirut provide a clear testament to the enduring solidarity shared between Iran and the Palestinian cause.
